Charter Mechanical Earns Prestigious AGC Safety PRIDE Designation

Charter is proud to announce that we have earned the Associated General Contractors’ Safety PRIDE Designation for 2026. To earn this award, contractors must meet or exceed a stringent set of statistical requirements. This award is a reflection of Charter employees’ exceptional character and commitment to our culture of safety, which ultimately results in a safer, more productive work force. Charter has previously been chosen for this honor three times. We are honored to earn the AGC Safety PRIDE Award for January 1 – December 31, 2026.

“Charter and our safety team thank all employees for their commitment to safety, particularly those who went above and beyond to support the application process for the PRIDE Award. This award is a reflection of Charter’s collective commitment to safety in all aspects of our business,” said Amme Standring, Safety Director. “We thank all employees for their ongoing, personal contributions to our culture of safety.”

PRIDE stands for Program Recognition Indicating Dedication and Excellence. Successful applicants must meet the following statistical requirements in order to qualify for this honor:

    • An Experience Modification Rate (EMR) less than or equal to 1.0 for the current year.
    • An average Incurred Loss Ratio (ILR) less than or equal to 40% over the course of the last three policy years.
    • Zero fatalities in the previous three calendar years.
    • Zero closed willful or repeat OSHA citations in the previous three calendar years.
    • A Days Away & Restricted or Transferred Rate (DART) (three-year average) and Incident Rate (IR) (three-year average) that is equal to or less than Oregon’s Department of Consumer & Business Services reported three-year average for your industry segment (based on your listed primary NAICS code).
    • An AGC member in good standing, with a NAICS code within Construction.

In addition to the above qualifications, Charter had to complete a written application, participate in an intensive audit of our safety program, and have three projects physically walked as part of a field audit with AGC Risk Consultants to demonstrate knowledge and high levels of safety programs and culture. The PRIDE application process takes a significant amount of time and extra effort to complete. We are proud to say that it has paid off with this coveted honor from AGC.
