Right from the beginning, volunteerism and giving back have always been part of who we are. Since 2006, Charter has given more than $850,000 to non-profits in Oregon and SW Washington.
2020 marked the company’s best year ever. With 100% match to employee donations, the total came to $243,690. Charter looks forward to continuing our support of the community with our upcoming 2021 charitable giving campaign.
Charter’s donations were distributed among three well-respected local non-profits: Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Oregon Food Bank and the Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Notably, since 2013, Charter and its employees have donated almost $600,000 to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. In 2021, OHSU’s Novel Interventions in Children’s Healthcare was able to support approximately 120 families. Services include: COVID-related support, back to school support, medical support, a fitness device for a child with pre-diabetes, art supplies, housing for patient families, transportation, assistance with utility bills and home goods, end of life care, funding for Master of Public Health interns, and purchase of electric vehicles for staff use.
“We are very proud and humbled by the involvement of employees and the impacts we have all made to support our local communities. Charter’s donations will help local non-profits in our community continue serving those in need,” said Cordell Tietz, President.
